Murat threw himself wholeheartedly into the renovation work. Given his background in construction, he was able to manage a substantial part of the project himself, with a little help from a few colleagues. He was so busy fixing up his house that at first, he didn’t realize anything was wrong. It was only when he went to feed his chickens on the third morning of renovations that the reality hit him like a cold wave. 

An alarming discovery clawed at his composure. He started counting, “One, two, three, four…” The count stopped abruptly at sixteen. He was supposed to have twenty five chickens. He repeated his count, pacing nervously across the yard, “One, two, three… sixteen.” Overcome with frustration, he exclaimed, “Damn it! Where are my chickens?” as he vented his exasperation into the empty air.

In the following days, he became aware of the dwindling numbers. He began obsessively counting his chickens every morning, afternoon, and evening. For the first two days, the count remained at sixteen. But on the third day, his heart sank as he realized yet another chicken had vanished. He was down by fifteen chickens now! What on earth was happening?!
