Several years down the line, the region earned a coveted spot on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Today, Derinkuyu boasts the title of the largest excavated underground city in Turkey and opens its subterranean wonders to curious visitors from around the globe.

Murat, now a man of advanced years with a face marked by time, often reflected on his incredible journey. He marveled at the thought of his monumental discovery, a discovery so significant that people traveled from far and wide, paying to marvel at the secrets that lay beneath his home. It was an extraordinary turn of events, triggered by a simple quest to find his lost chickens behind a wall. A soft smile touched his weathered face; indeed, life had a peculiar way of unveiling its mysteries.
