In an interview with Allure, the singer opened up about what makeup means to her. “I’ve always dealt with insecurities my whole life that are due to the times that I was bullied when I was young,” she told. “And that feeling comes back every once in a while. Then I feel like a superhero with wings. When I became Lady Gaga, that was through makeup. The power of makeup can change you when you’re feeling down.”
