29. Martha Stewards peacocks
Martha Stewart, famed TV personality and entrepreneur, is also an avid animal lover, with a special fondness for her majestic pet peacocks. Unfortunately the renowned TV personality and businesswoman, faced a tragedy at her Connecticut home in the summer of 2022. The guilty party? A roving gang of gourmet coyotes with an unfortunate taste for her precious peacocks. Six of her stunning birds, including the eye-catching “BlueBoy” and the sublime “White Boy”, met their untimely end in broad daylight, leaving Martha and her followers in a state of shock and sadness.

Though famous for her exceptional homemaking and business acumen, Martha has long been known to have a soft spot for animals, notably her delightful brood of peacocks. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has warned residents about the increasing presence of coyotes, but who could have predicted that Martha’s feathered friends would end up on the menu? Left with a heavy heart and a brood in distress, Martha found herself faced with a daunting question: how to prevent these peacock-preferring coyotes from turning her property into their personal bistro.

Yet Martha, always the problem solver, isn’t one to back down. Seeking advice on coyote conflicts from her loyal social media followers, she made major renovations to her bird’s residence. The peafowl were on strict lockdown, whilst she got their yard a high-security upgrade with a fortified wire-fence top. A message is clear amidst the feathers and the flurry – Martha’s Connecticut home might be down a few peacocks, but it’s definitely not out. So, to the coyotes with the ‘expensive tastes’, consider yourselves warned!
