26. Barbra Streisand’s cloned dogs

A dog isn’t such an unusual animal, you would think. We agree, but what if this isn’t a normal dog. Forget replicating the roar of the MGM lion or cloning Lassie, Barbra Streisand has elevated the celebrity pet game to a whole new level. In a plot twist that sounds like something out of a sci-fi flick, the legendary actress and singer took a cue from Jurassic Park and decided to clone her beloved dog Samantha, in 2017.

With more sequels than The Fast and The Furious franchise, Streisand introduced the world to Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett – two puppies genetically identical to the late, great Sammie. This duo of diva dogs have stepped into the spotlight, proving that in Hollywood, your legacy can live on in more ways than one.

Streisand, however, isn’t content with just two adorable lookalikes. Keeping it all in the family, she adopted Miss Fanny, a distant relative of Samantha, named after Streisand’s iconic role in Funny Girl. With this pack of pups, Streisand’s house is more star-studded than the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Despite being born from the same genetic cloth, Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett have distinct personalities, according to Streisand. Like a pair of method actors preparing for their roles, these puppy clones are bringing their unique interpretation to the character of ‘Samantha.’ Streisand eagerly awaits to see if they’ll inherit their predecessor’s trademark brown eyes and serious demeanor, completing the heartwarming homage to her beloved Sammie.
