Discovering leatherback turtles
Leatherbacks are the largest and most migratory of all sea turtle species. They measure from 4 to 6 feet long and weigh from 660 to 1,100 pounds. The largest species can measure up to 10 feet long and weigh up to 2,019 pounds.
Leatherbacks can swim up to 1,000 miles and are widely distributed throughout the world. However, despite their wide distribution, their population has declined considerably over the years.
