Former Olympian and sports psychology consultant Penny Werthner says female athletes are held to a different standard than their male counterparts, often criticized for their appearance. Werthner believes the pressures to succeed in tennis, a solitary sport, can be especially hard, with the added pressures of courting sponsors and endorsement deals.
